Danny Kanell is a former professional American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) and the Arena Football League (AFL). He was born on November 21, 1973, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kanell played college football at Florida State University, where he was a standout quarterback and led the team to multiple bowl game appearances.
After college, Kanell was selected by the New York Giants in the fourth round of the 1996 NFL Draft. He played for the Giants from 1996 to 1998 before joining the Atlanta Falcons in 1999. Kanell also had stints with the Denver Broncos and the Arena Football League's New York Dragons before retiring from professional football.
Since retiring from playing, Kanell has worked as a college football analyst for ESPN and CBS Sports. He is known for his insightful commentary and analysis of college football games and players. Kanell also co-hosts a radio show on SiriusXM and hosts a podcast called "The Kanell and Bell Show" with Raja Bell.
